Need more opinions!
On my last post I received very nice comments and decided to go with the white border the same size as the sashing and the binding will be the scraps left. When I finish, which will be a while because I hand quilt and haven't even started it yet, I will post a picture of the completed quilt.
Now I need some opinions on this quilt. This is Evening Mist fabric by Moda. I don't know if I should put a border on this or not. It is about 44x44. I have a small amount of the light fabric and about a yard of the darker charcoal fabric. I was thinking about a tiny inner border of the lighter and then a border of the darker.
What do you all think? Should I leave it like it is or add borders?

have you laid the fabrics out against the quilt to see what they look like? I find seing the options this way helps, and take a pic too of each one, it helps you see things very differently. I think it would be a great plan!
ReplyDeletesounds like a great way to finish but I would lay the fabrics our like borders (even if you can only do one or two sides) and see how you like it. Taking the picture is a good suggestions - you can can see things very differently in a pic.
ReplyDeleteBTW - I love the quilt!
Audition, audition, audition. But I'm inclined to go with a 2.5", 1", 2.5" border with your medium for the 2.5" and your lightest for the 1".
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt.

I agree with the audition plan but either way I love the quilt. I am planning to use some of this same fabric as a border on a quilt and it is such sweet fabric. Can't wait to see what you decide.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea but do try alternatives first ..love Jan xx
ReplyDeleteFirst, that quilt is great. I think the borders you said will really make those colors pop. Let us know what you decide!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. If it's a wall hanging, I would just bind it as is. If it's a lap quilt or bigger, I would go with the border.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely audition those options. Good luck!
